Daniel Schlagwein is Professor at Chulalongkorn University's Sasin School of Management and The University of Sydney Business School, and the researcher who turned “digital nomadism” from a lifestyle blog category into a field of study. He has published more than 90 peer-reviewed papers on digital work, and he is joint Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Information Technology.

His research has not stayed in journals. He advised on Thailand's 2024 destination visa, the DTV, and lead a on Digital Nomadism in Chiang Mai, a key study that put the question in front of the Thai government.
